Bangladesh cricket board made 350 crore deal of 6 years with the game on sports group to establish a franchise tournament on 18 January 2012. 13 companies took part in bidding process during the auction of franchises. The first edition of Bangladesh Premier League officially kicked off on 9 February 2012.
